Wonderful article Karna.Belief is really important to be nurtured in life.I have one question - How to distinguish between self belief and arrogance ? A person having self belief in his capabilities is almost the same outwardly like a arrogrant person. We even sometimes mistakenly label a self-assured person as arrogant.I would love to know your thoughts on the same.
Ravi, thank you for taking the time to write me back! I love having these discussions. Two things: ONE. Does the person in question take themselves lightly? Can they joke about themselves (not is a self deprecating way, more just easy going)? Do the have a calm demeanor and listen to others? That's someone who believes in themselves. TWO. How do you feel in their presence? Do you feel calm in your body or a little agitated? People with genuine self-belief feel no need to make others feel small or insignificant or make themselves appear better than others which you can typically register in your body. And bonus, what we label as can sometimes be a reflection of ourselves and not the other person - like with projection. Observing people over time and feeling your body's cues could help you figure this one out. <3
Thanks Karna for this great explanation. On the opposite end of the spectrum is humility.A self-assured person is also mostly humble and modest about his/her abilities. However sometimes this very humility is misinterpreted as weakness or meekness. What are your thoughts on the same ? Is humility overrated?
Hmm today that seems harder to answer than usual. I guess in some ways easier... It has been a rough one. My belief in my worth, in my own ability to succeed. Sorry to say it is faltering today more than usual.

What’s one belief you want to change?
