Are they “influencers”?

Do they “make 6 or 7 figures”?

Do they have a "big list"?

Reading that list, you’ve probably already felt that oh-so-common feeling of absurdity in your body.

I don’t know about you, but the verdict is in for me: the Age of the Celebrity is over.

(Even though I admit I did get bated by a recent AI video about JLo dating Kevin Costner?! But I digress.)

So, what is the coming Age about?

-opens the door and looks around for clues, locks eyes with squirrel and the inspiration strikes-

I’d like to think that it’s about: US!

• Mushrooms

• Animals

• Birds!

• People with different gender expressions and their varied perspectives

• Local communities

• People with different abilities and varied perspectives

• Poets

• Indigenous peoples

• People taking the brave next step with shaky knees or complete faith

• Farmers

• Healers

• Men who listen and take in the lived realities of others

• Fathers who care for their kids and inner children

• Elders

• Kids who feel seen and heard

• Vulnerable and fierce leaders

• Black and Brown people

• Folks speaking truth to power

• Visionaries for the common good

• Teenagers

• Trees

• Dreamers (like us)

• Women over 50

• Really good friends

• Neuro-varied people

• People of different spiritual/religious beliefs and practices

• Artists

• Worms

• [Add yours here]

Thus, this gathering is less about speakers/experts with a specific topic they will impart on you and more about good, kind, imperfect, messy, and absolutely BRILLIANT humans I know who have wisdom we can learn from!

So no, don’t go to Toby Robbin’s “Time to Rise” Summit happening at the same time as this event to hear the same old strategies on “how to reprogram your brain,” rise, and “be the best version of yourself you can be NOW.”

Instead, break bread with real people who dream of moving forward TOGETHER.

Let's not be complacent and accept being spoon-fed the old fallacy that touts that you should and can rise alone.

When they say no more DEI, we say MORE diversity, equity, and inclusion to encompass the earth, the ancestors, and all the more-than-human world!

(Or go to the event if that’s where your soul calls you! Fifteen years ago, I danced on the stage, banged my chest, and walked on hot coals at “Awaken the Giant Within”, so who am I to judge :)
